Assembly Management:
The purpose of this ministry is to assign duties and make sure those responsible for prayers, ushering, etc. for all church services are accounted for. We would like to encourage growth and/or training for those who do not already perform some duties such as public prayer, etc.
Benevolence & Outreach:
We are interested in not only the spiritual welfare, but the physical needs of the people in our community as well. We own and operate a benevolence facility at what used to be E.B. Terry Elementary School. Clothing and food is gathered, stored and distributed to those in need. This location also provides temporary shelter for people who need a place to stay.
We hold a Christmas dinner annually for some of the folks in our community. The dinner includes a catered meal, visits with Santa and gifts for all the kids.

Children's Education:
We have developed a comprehensive plan to help parents educate their children in the ways of the Lord. On Sunday mornings, there are classed for all ages. There is also a separate children's worship time (Children's Church) for ages K-4th grade. On Sunday nights and Wednesday nights, there are classes for nursery to 3rd grade, a Junior Youth Group for 4th-6th grade, and a Senior Youth Group for 7th-12th. The Sunday night youth groups are mainly devotional in nature. Please join us during these educational opportunities.
You will never regret teaching your children the Word of God. You may regret many other things you do in raising them, but teaching them the scriptures will never be one of them. Take every opportunity you possibly can find to teach, and nurture your children in your faith, in the Word of God! Before too very long these little ones will seem to slip through your fingers and be gone and your opportunities will be few and far between! Use the time you have now! Teach them yourselves, help the church teach them, and the Lord will bless your efforts. God says His Word will not come back void.
Fellowship:
Our fellowship ministry is committed to building up the body of Christ. One of the primary programs made possible by this ministry involves the coordination of Wednesday night fellowship meals. Each Wednesday night, members and guests are encouraged to enjoy a hassle-free, inexpensive meal with each other in a relaxed and uplifting atmosphere. This mid-week meal has been extremely well received as evidenced by the growing participation in this opportunity. These meals provide a wonderful avenue for Christians to come together to encourage each other and to strengthen the church for our daily walk with God.
We also seek to have a fellowship activity bringing together the whole congregation with as many guests as possible, at least on a quarterly basis. The get-togethers include potluck meals immediately following Sunday morning worship services, ice cream socials and dinners honoring newcomers to the fellowship. These allow us to enjoy fellowship and also allow many of our congregation to follow Christ's example by serving others. It is our prayer that these activities will enrich the lives of our members, allow us to share the love of God with our guests and ultimately bring glory to God.
Acts 2:42 & 47--They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer... praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
1 Thessalonians 5:11--Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Library & Directory:
The purpose of this ministry is to keep the church library up to date as far as stocking, reshelving, cataloging and labeling books. Books that are purchased in honor of or memory of are taken care of by this ministry. Audio tapes are also given to us from all worship services and made available for check out. In the past we have helped coordinate the pictorial church directory of all members and families. This is usually updated every couple of years and is an asset to everyone, especially new members. We are very fortunate to have such an up to date library from donations of loved ones. We encourage everyone to use the library (especially people with children). There is a large assortment of reading materials. If you are interested in being involved in this ministry, please contact one of the elders.

NHC Healthcare:
In this ministry which has been going on for over 20 years, church services are conducted each Sunday morning at 8:30am for the residents in the chapel at NHC Healthcare (formerly Homewood). We assist in getting residents to the service. A speaker and song leader conduct the service for 35-40 residents. This is a way to offer a church service to those in need, who would not otherwise be able to attend.

Public Relations/Advertising:
The purpose of this ministry is to inform our members and our community about our congregation and what we have going on. This ministry encompasses areas such as advertising in local newspapers and on the radio. Announcements appear not only in those media, but also on cable TV, the Online Community Bulletin Board on Glasgow's Website and our own website. From time to time, we meet with various folks here and we come up with new ideas. We also rely on input and suggestions from you as to what we can tell people about and what information we should add. Also, if you have any photographs of church activities or of our members, we could share those on the website.
